Fire Safety Design of Tall Buildings
19th April 2021 - 13:00-15:00 GMT
Tall buildings by their very nature have a unique set design considerations, and fire safety is no different. This webinar will consider these challenges, and will be split into three parts to discuss:
Part 1: Regulatory requirements of fire safety for tall buildings
Part2: Fundamentals of fire safety design for tall buildings
Part 3: Structural fire design and numerical modelling
Dr. Feng Fu PhD MBA CENG FIStructE FASCE FICE FHEA, is an Associate Editor, Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is Chair of 2020, Institution of Structural Engineers, North Thames Regional Group. He is a Chartered Structural Engineer, Fellow of Institution of Structural Engineers,
Fellow of American Society of Civil Engineering and Fellow of Institution of Civil Engineers. He is also a committee member of Disproportionate Collapse Mitigation of Building Structure Standards and Blast Protection of Building Standard, American Society of Civil Engineers. He is the member of editorial Board, Proceedings of institution of Civil Engineers, Structures and Buildings and International Journal of Advances in Computational.
Dr. Feng Fu worked for several world-leading consultancy companies including WSP Group, where he was one of the key team members in structural fire design of the tallest building in Western Europe, the Shard. He serves for two building design standard committees of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and also acts as an associate editor and editorial board member for three international journals, He published more than 100 technical papers and three textbooks including Structural Analysis and Design to Prevent Disproportionate Collapse (CRC Press, 2016).
Attendance certificates are available on request after the completion of the webinar.
